Cardi parlayed her millions of Instagram followers into a spot on Love and Hip-Hop, which led to a record deal with Atlantic Records. Cardi's debut single "Bodak Yellow" went to #1 and was followed by two more #1's, becoming the first female rapper to have multiple #1's. Invasion of Privacy hit the charts at #1, broke multiple streaming records, went multi-platinum and received five Grammy nominations, including album of the year. In the process, Cardi became the first female artist to have every single track of an album certified gold or platinum by the RIAA. Cardi has not forgot her social media following along the way, and still blesses us with classic Cardi Instagram posts. In 2018, Cardi went viral when she shared a picture of her as a kid, soon becoming one of the biggest internet memes of the year. In 2019, Cardi was thrust into the political spotlight when she shared her opinion on Instagram about the government shutdown.
