According to Fandango, Black Panther has outsold all other superhero movies in ticket sales ahead of its February 15 release date. The movie which is sure to be a blockbuster features a predominantly African-American cast is based on Marvel’s first black superhero comic book of the same name. After researching the comic, we found that the original character debuted in July 1966 just months before the creation of the Black Panther Party in October 1966.
Not everyone is excited about the release as fans of DC comics have created an online movement to flood Rotten Tomatoes with negative reviews of the film. The website condemned the movement and Facebook removed the event which was set up to create a coordinated effort to bring down Black Panther.
